Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.
The win also indicates he has won 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
